The Buildoff Continues . . .

That's right, it's still going on. With no clear cut winner, it's going to come down to the wire and the very last vote (I don't know who's voting). Super Dave's 360 (aka Vapor the J.J. (just ask Dave or I what it means)) got some new "mufflers" ( I doubt they muffle much) since the last update. The gas tank is getting painted and the battery box is made. The Vapor is progressing nicely and it is visible progress. Meanwhile, the 500 is just getting little touches (just like that nice gentlemen gave me in the airport bathroom, mmmmm). And you can barely see them in the pictures but in person they are there. But more importantly, we got some new additions to the garage (no babies, that would be weird if the garage had smaller baby garage's. actually, that would be pretty sweet). If you look in the first pic, you can see the two 48" fluorescent lights that we picked up on Sunday. That made a world of difference. The other addition hasn't been utilized yet, but it will. My grandparents dropped off a drill press last Saturday. I'm thinking a bunch of stuff is going to get some holes.

The Shakopee Biker Buildoff Has Begun . . .

This became a two horse race Sunday morning when Dave E. Boy picked up his bike. He's working on a '77 Yamaha XS360. As you can see in the top picture (yeah, it's from my cell phone, we didn't think about saving the pictures from craigslist) it's a pretty clean mochine. A couple of little dings in the gas tank but overall pretty good for a '77. And for it being a 360, it moves good enough. As a side note, Dave's 360 and my 500 both have (or had when new) 27 horsepower. The cutting has already begun (if you couldn't tell by the pictures) and so has the buildoff to end all buildoffs. Two men enter, one man leave. Two men enter, one man leave. Or something like that. Can't you just see the fire in Dave's eyes that he wants to win?

Lost Footage From Hawaii

As I was perusing the vast archives of the 320 gb hard drive on the mainframe (wow, that sounds technical), I ran across this footage from the Hawaiian vacation/marriage trip last year. Yeah, just your ol' pals Ryan and Timmy doing some karate, talking about lethal weapons and shit. Then this dude shows up on a killer choppa. Good times.

Sunday Mornin' . . .

I've been meaning to post this song for a while now. And when the ol' youtube pulled up this version, I figured I would post this instead of just the Johnny Cash version. Does it get any better than Cash and Kris Kristofferson (you know, Rubber Ducky from Convoy)? How about the two previously mentioned AND Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. Dude.

Taken out to the Ball Game . . .

This was before the game (OMG, you can see Mauer in the outfield).

Just about time for the first pitch by Liriano. Who is having a pretty good start this year. I think this game he struck out 6 and had 8 scoreless innings. And I think I heard last night that his ERA is 0.93. Ok, he's only had 4 starts so far, but you have to start somewhere.

According to the sign Frankie got a strikeout.

It's kind of neat to see the moon while watching Twins baseball.

Holy Crap its like this sign is from Star Trek, all lens flarey (and there is no photoshop involved, just straight from the D90). Basically, Target Field is pretty sweet. And you should probably go to a game. I'm sure we will go to a few. And in 5 years, after the newness has worn off a little, it will be even cooler. Hopefully there won't be as many people there just to see the stadium.

Creed . . .

This will be the ONLY time that a Creed video will be on the blog (unless something really, really awesome comes up, then we'll just forget about this little statement). If you couldn't guess, someone took some Creed concert footage and then added sound to match what was happening in the video. It's a little slow in the beginning but it's kinda funny towards the end. I felt bad for Mark.

Take me out to the Ball Game . . .

I don't know if you've heard or not but the Twins have a new ballpark. And Susie and I will be there this Wednesday (the 21st). And for all you people you are thinking "I wonder how they got tickets, Oh they are sold out". Well, according to some dude I head on KFAN a while ago, "It's pretty easy to get in to just about any sporting event". And yeah, this was easy. Stub Hub. There is even a link on the Twins ticket buying website. Hell, you can even find tickets for $8. Oh sure there are also some for $1500 per seat. But that is when the Yankme's are in town. Anyway, back to the official "Ryan's Blog" trip to Target Field. We'll be in left field, the section closest to the foul ball pole, and in the FIRST ROW. Yeah, that should be sweet. You could expect a full write-up late Wednesday night. Ha, you would be pretty disappointed then. We'll get some pics though. They will probably be up towards the end of the week. Keep an eye out for us. And no, we won't have a "Circle Me Bert" sign. So you'll just have to watch for a homerun to be hit towards left.

I got a special treat for ya this evenin. . .

Thought we needed a little Sexual Chocolate up in here. And I figured most people are tired of the old country music. So here is a little Randy Watson. You probably know him as "Joe the Policeman" from the "What's Going Down" episode of "That's My Momma". Classic. And here is something to think about, what made Eddie Murphy stop being funny? Maybe it was the tranny hooker. So kids, stay away from the tranny hookers. And that's one to grow on.

SR-71 Blackbird

In my usual internet reading today I stumbled across an article wrote by the pilot of a SR-71 Blackbird. I happened to find it on Gizmodo between a bunch of stuff about the iPad. The guy talks about how the plane would actually drip fuel because the seams didn't quite fit together when it was just sitting on the ground or subsonic. Since the plane would heat up to 1,100 degrees at Mach 3, the whole plane would expand. Hence the need for expansion joints. Just think about that for a minute. Damn. And there is a part in the story where the guy says "I pulled the throttles to idle just south of Sicily , but we still overran the refueling tanker awaiting us over Gibraltar." Holy crap. I don't want to ruin the whole article for you, so just go check it out, it's worth it (unlike most of the stuff on here).

Easter Food

Here is what was devoured at our place on Easter. All sorts of beefy goodness (just like Thunder From Down Unda, right Tim?) and potatoes. Sure there was other stuff too but this is the good stuff.
